The Philippines’ first international forum on urbanization and city building in the 21st century is happening in Manila on March 8, 2016 at the Shangri-la Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig Philippines. NXCITIES Philippines is a full-day event hosted by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to anchor the launch of Clark Green City, a 9,450-hectare planned urban development north of Manila.
The Philippines has long been facing with problems such as unchecked urban sprawl, pollution, and some of the worst traffic in the world, while also bearing the brunt of climate change. In this light, the conference aims to nurture ideas that will form the core of next-generation urban spaces both in the country and across the globe.
NXCITIES Philippines will gather CEOs, urban planners, designers, tech luminaries, as well as political leaders from Asia, the Americas, and Europe to discuss the critical elements needed in building cities that are sustainable, inclusive, and resilient. Topics include Building a Great City, Powering the City of the Future and Designing a City for Happiness among others.
The event is free of charge and by invitation only.
